Every number in your chart, whether it comes from your name or your date of birth, comes down in the end to one of the digits 1 to 9, or to one of the three Master Numbers, 11, 22 and 33. That is the whole alphabet. These pages give each of the twelve its own page.

What is on each page

Every number page follows the same shape. It opens with the essence of the number in a line or two, then looks at its nature, its strengths and the places it tends to trip itself up. After that it reads the number in three positions: as a Life Path, as a Destiny and as a Personal Year. Each page finishes with a short note on the tarot cards that carry the same number, and a question for you to sit with.

The meanings are drawn from my own teaching notes, built up over forty years of reading charts, and they also take in what the number does as a Soul Urge, a Personality, a Pinnacle and a Challenge.

How to use them

Treat these pages like a dictionary. You would not read a dictionary from front to back, and you do not need to here either. Work out a number, then come and look it up.

If you have not found your numbers yet, start with the Life Path post in the daily posts, which walks you through it from your date of birth, and the Destiny post, which does the same from your full birth name. Then bring your numbers back here and read the pages that belong to you. Read the ones for the people you live with too. (Go figure.)

The twelve numbers

  • 1, the beginner. Independence, courage and the first step.
  • 2, the partner. Cooperation, sensitivity and balance.
  • 3, the communicator. Creative expression, joy and the gift of words.
  • 4, the builder. Foundations, order and steady work that lasts.
  • 5, the free spirit. Change, movement and the unexpected.
  • 6, the carer. Home, love and responsibility for your people.
  • 7, the seeker. Reflection, study and the inner life.
  • 8, the achiever. Power, money and stepping into your authority.
  • 9, the humanitarian. Completion, compassion and letting go.
  • 11, the intuitive. The higher octave of the 2, sensitivity turned all the way up.
  • 22, the master builder. The higher octave of the 4, building real things from a spiritual blueprint.
  • 33, the master teacher. The higher octave of the 6, lifting others through compassion.

The Master Numbers carry more voltage than the single digits, and anyone who holds one also carries its root. An 11 still has to learn everything a 2 learns, and then some. The Master Numbers post in the daily posts introduces all three. Zero turns up only as a Challenge, and the Challenges page explains it.

One number, many positions

A number does not read the same way in every place it appears. A 5 as your Life Path is the road you walk for the whole of this lifetime. A 5 as your Destiny is what you are here to do and give. A 5 as your Personal Year is a single twelve month season that runs from one birthday to the next and then moves on. Same number, same energy, three very different scales.

That is why every page covers all three positions. When you look up a number, find the section that matches where it sits in your chart, and read that one first.

And when the same number turns up in two or three positions in one chart, pay attention. That number is raising its voice in your life, and it is worth listening to.

Which number keeps turning up for you?
