Relationships and Guidance
People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.
I have watched that one sentence land for more people than anything else I have written. Because it answers the question underneath most of the pain people bring me. Why did they leave? Why is this one still here? Why did that one only stay a year and change everything?
This area is about the other people, and about the help you get with them.
On the people side: reason, season and lifetime. Soul mates, and what the films get wrong about them. Soul groups, the twenty to twenty five souls who travel with you across lifetimes and keep turning up. Karma as a mirror rather than a punishment. Full circle relationships and the half circle ones that never quite close, and why the difference matters.
On the guidance side: your guides, how to meet them, and why in the end you are your own guide and they are helpers. Signs and signposts, life as a game with clues placed for you. The three source rule, which is that when the same message comes from three independent directions it is time to act. The Flow, and how to get into it. And dreams, including lucid dreaming and the ones where someone who has died comes to visit, because that is guidance too.
Read the reason, season, lifetime piece first if someone has just gone. Then the rest, in whatever order the day needs.
The pieces in this area
There are fifteen pages here. The first ten take the people first and then the guidance, and the pages after them come back to both.
A Reason, a Season or a Lifetime is the one to read first if someone has just gone. Why there is no such thing as a chance meeting, the questions that come when someone leaves, and my friend Ian. It covers what to do when it ended badly, a simple way to ask your guides that your path never crosses someone's again, and true family by choice.
Soul Mates says what the films get wrong: the "You complete me" line, and the ending. It explains why every one of the souls who travel with you could be called a soul mate, or more simply a soul friend, why one of them may be playing your enemy, and what the familiar feeling can tell you.
Soul Groups is about that company of twenty to twenty five. The play where they are the other actors and the parts are handed out differently each lifetime, how to recognise them by the familiar feeling, true family, and what it means when one of them goes.
Karma as a Mirror treats karma as neither good nor bad. What you project comes back, though not always in the same lifetime, and we cannot see the whole of it. Then the second mirror, seeing your own traits in someone else, and how Melissa helped me look in that mirror.
Full Circle and Half Circle Relationships is about the half circle looking for another half, and the fight for control that follows. What a full circle is, where the missing half went, four methods for completing your circle, how to spot a half circle relationship, and the rainbow.
Your Guides tells how I met Melissa, how the surgery I had in 2005 changed the way I saw guides, and why we are our own guides. It gives a simple method for meeting yours, and three ways to ask them for help: when you are stuck, when you need to avoid someone, and automatic writing. Then the listening, and the truck at the intersection.
Signs and Signposts treats life as a video game full of clues. Where signposts turn up, the random book, how they grow from a whisper to thermonuclear when you ignore them, how a run of bad luck can be guidance, and becoming the observer of your own life with a journal.
The Three Source Rule sets out the rule as steps, with the Fremantle example. It covers the rule used without asking, testing what you believe, and two companions, the coin toss and the random book.
The Flow is the state where hours pass like minutes. What it feels like, the four steps for bringing a remembered moment of it into whatever you are doing now, why it belongs with guidance, and how it connects to the Mind Switch.
Dreams covers the dream state as a halfway house, a little about my own dreams, and dreams as signposts. It suggests a journal of what you take to bed and what you wake with, gives lucid dreaming in brief, and explains how to ask someone who has died to visit you in a dream. Ten dream pages sit under it: Dreams About Teeth Falling Out, Dreams About Falling, Dreams About Flying, Dreams About Being Chased, Dreams About Snakes, Loved Ones Who Have Passed in Your Dreams, Recurring Dreams, Nightmares and How to Settle Them, Keeping a Dream Journal, and Lucid Dreaming Techniques, which has the full methods.
Twin Flames looks at the idea of one soul split in two, where it came from, and the runner and the chaser. It sets the idea beside soul groups and full circle relationships, and it is plain that no spiritual label is a reason to stay where you are treated badly.
How Many Journeys Are You On takes today as an example of the several journeys we are all on at once. Why it matters, keeping a journey list, what the list starts to show you, and how your journeys run alongside other people's.
When People Drift Away is about what happens to the people around you once your vibration starts to change. Like attracts like, why nobody is to blame, reason, season or lifetime, what not to do, and the ones who come with you.
Why We Should Listen to Guidance starts at the intersection, with the sudden urge to slow down. The two branches, why we talk ourselves out of it, and why guidance is not always a warning.
Synchronicity is the word Carl Jung gave to the meaningful coincidence. Coincidence and synchronicity side by side, why I think it happens, being a sceptic as well, how to check, and riding it.
Where to begin
Every person who has crossed your path has been doing a job in your growth, the ones you loved and the ones you did not. Start by noticing what each of them brought you.
Then ask. You have guides, and if you ask for guidance with a real desire for it, it will come. The asking is the easy part. All of us, me included, have been given guidance we knew we should follow and then talked ourselves out of it.
The guides are helpers. The authority sits with you.
