Perth Spiritual Learning
Privacy Policy
This page explains what I collect when you use this site, why I collect it, and what happens to it.
The short version is simple. I only ask for what I need, I use it for the reason you gave it to me, and I never sell it or pass it on.

Who I am
Perth Spiritual Learning is run by me, Donald, in Perth, Western Australia.
If you have a question about your details, send me a message through the Contact page or email donald@perthspirituallearning.com.au.
By post, write to Perth Spiritual Learning, PO Box 315, Wanneroo WA 6946.
What I collect, and why
When you send me a message
The contact form asks for your name, your email address and your message. It comes straight to my inbox so I can reply to you, and that is all it is used for.
When you book a reading
To write a reading I need your full name at birth, the name you use now if it is different, your date, time and place of birth, and for a tarot reading, your question in your own words.
I use these details to write your reading and for nothing else. Your reading is sent to you by email as a PDF.
I keep your details and your reading on file so I can answer any questions you have about it later. If you would like them deleted, ask me and I will delete them.
Payment for readings is made by bank transfer to my business account. I see the payment and the name on it, and nothing more.
When you join the Members area
Joining asks for your first name, your email address and a password you choose. Your password is stored scrambled, so not even I can see it.
I also keep the date you joined, because everyone who joins before the paid membership begins is a founding member. Down the track the Members area will become a paid membership, and a founding member never pays the full price, for life.
If you send a question through the members question box, I keep your question so I can answer it. Your name is only used with an answer if you tick the box that says I may.
While you are logged in, the Members area keeps a record of the pages you open and the pages you save. You see your own saved pages and recently viewed pages on Members home, and you can clear the recently viewed list at any time.
The same record is used to suggest pages you might like, on the Suggested for you tab. Only you see your suggestions. I also look at the overall picture across members, such as which pages are read most, saved most and come back to, to decide what to write next. I do not share this record with anyone.
If you send me feedback or an idea from Members home, I keep it so I can read it and reply. Ideas that go on the shared ideas board are shown to other members without your name.
Your Members details are used for the Members area and for emails about the Members area, and nothing else.
When you sign up for the Sunday email
The Sunday email needs only your email address. It is used to send you the Sunday email, and every email has a link to stop it at any time.
The Sunday email and the Members area are separate. Signing up for one does not sign you up for the other.
When you support the work
If you choose to send a support payment, it is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach this site or me. I see your name, your email address and the amount.
When the Members area becomes a paid membership, payments will be handled the same way, by Stripe.
When you visit the site
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It uses small files called cookies to do this. It tells me things like how many people visited and which pages they read. It does not tell me who you are, and the site shows no advertising.
When a search on the site finds nothing, the words searched for are kept, with nothing that identifies who searched, so I can see what the site is still missing.
The site also keeps the technical records every website keeps, such as the address your visit came from, to keep it running and protect it from attack. Too many failed attempts to sign in will block that address for a while.
Who else handles your details
A few services help me run the site, and each only handles what it needs to do its job.
- The company that hosts the website, where the site and its records are stored.
- Brevo, which sends the site's emails, including the Sunday email.
- Microsoft, which runs my email.
- Google, for the visit counts described above.
- Stripe, for any payment made on the site.
Some of these companies store information outside Australia, including in Europe and the United States.
Your details are never sold, rented or passed on to anyone else for their own use.
Seeing, changing or removing your details
You can ask to see what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Send me a message and I will take care of it.
Members can change their details on their account page, and can ask me to close their account at any time.
If you have a concern
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your details, please tell me first and I will put it right.
If you are still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this page
If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. If a change affects members, I will tell them by email first.
The Terms page explains the rest of how the site and the readings work.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, send me a message and I will explain it.
See every page and post in the Contents.
The Members area has songs, Moon pages to print, the Sunday article a day early and a first look at new Library pages.
