The 78 Cards
Eight of Wands
Minor Arcana, the suit of Wands, the Eight. Element: fire.

Things move fast. Messages, momentum, arrival.
The picture
Eight wands fly through open sky side by side, all angled down towards the ground as though they are about to land. There is nobody on this card at all, only the wands in flight. Below is quiet green country with a river and a small building on a hill.
Upright
Eight is the number of movement and effort paying off. In Wands, all that fire finally goes somewhere, and it goes quickly. The long build up of the earlier cards is over.
With no figure in the picture, nobody is pushing. Things are happening on their own. Emails come back, plans fall into place, news arrives, a decision you have waited on is made in a day. It is the part of a project where you look up and a week has gone.
The wands are angled downward. They are coming in to land. The Eight of Wands is often the arrival of something set in motion earlier, the end of a long wait all at once.
It asks you to move with the speed. Say yes when things line up. Answer the message. Pack the bag. When things are moving this fast, hesitation costs more than usual.
Reversed
Reversed, the wands stall in the air. The delayed reading fits best: whatever you are waiting for is on its way, and it is slower than you hoped. Messages go astray, plans need one more round, travel gets held up. Keep the bag packed anyway.
It can also be too much, where everything arrives at once and you cannot catch it all. To tell which, look at your inbox, literally or otherwise. Empty and waiting is delay. Overflowing is too much, and the answer is to catch one wand at a time.
When it turns up
What is already on its way to you, and are you ready to catch it?
