The moon is teaching us to let go

In the small hours of this morning, Wednesday 8 July, the moon reached its Last Quarter, half lit and half dark, sitting in fiery Aries.

If you do not follow the moon, here is the simple version. Every month she grows from dark to full, then shrinks back to dark again. The Last Quarter is the moment in the shrinking half where the work is release.

The full moon a week ago asked you to see something clearly. This quarter moon asks you to do something about it.

It is the turning point of the cycle, the part where you stop holding on and start letting go. And in Aries, the sign of courage and clean action, the letting go is meant to be brave, the quiet honest kind rather than the dramatic kind.

One thing you have outgrown.

One habit that is quietly costing you.

One story about yourself that stopped being true a while ago.

You do not have to burn your life down. You just have to loosen your grip on one thing that is asking to be set down.

Letting go is how you make room. Every hand that stays clenched tight around the old has no way to receive anything new. So open it.

The moon does this every single month without effort, growing and releasing, filling and emptying, never once trying to hold the light forever. She trusts the cycle. Tonight, you might practise trusting it too.

What is the one thing you are ready to set down this week?
