The Full Moon in Taurus

Yesterday, Monday 26 October, at 12:10 Perth time, the Moon was full at 3 degrees of Taurus.

If you looked up last night, it was the big round one rising in the east as the sun went down, and it will still look full tonight.

A Full Moon is the peak of a cycle, the moment the light is at its brightest and you see what is actually there.

This one is in Taurus.

Taurus is the sign of the body, of money, of comfort, of the things you can touch. It is the sign of the garden and the bank account and the good chair, and its question is always the same.

What is enough?

Here is what makes this Full Moon different.

Taurus is ruled by Venus, and Venus is retrograde.

She has been walking backwards since 3 October, and on Saturday she passed right through the Sun, the middle of her review.

So two days later the Moon lights up her own sign.

That is the sky turning a lamp on the exact thing you have been reviewing.

What you value, and what you have been holding on to.

I see this in readings all the time. Somebody has kept a thing for years, a house, a job, a habit, a relationship, because it was once comfortable, and Taurus loves comfort. The comfort has gone, but the habit of holding on has not.

A Taurus Full Moon shows you the difference.

It can be uncomfortable.

Taurus does not like change, and a Full Moon in Taurus can feel like somebody opening the curtains on a room you have not cleaned.

That is all right.

You do not have to clean the whole room tonight.

You just have to look at it.

And the Sun is opposite, in Scorpio, the sign of what you let go of. So the whole sky this week is a conversation between keeping and releasing.

Hold on to what still feeds you.

Put down what you are only carrying out of habit.

So the practice for this week.

Walk through your house, slowly, and pick up one thing you have kept for years and never use.

Ask whether it is still yours.

If it is, put it somewhere you will see it.

If it is not, let it go to somebody who will love it.

Then do the same with one habit.

What are you holding on to that stopped feeding you a while ago?
