This week the cards drew Justice.
Yesterday morning, Wednesday 23 September, the Sun entered Libra, the sign of the scales. And Justice is the Libra card of the deck.
Once again the chart and the cards are speaking the same language.
Look at the image.
A figure sits on a stone seat between two pillars. A crown on the head. A sword held straight up in the right hand. A set of scales, perfectly level, in the left. A red robe, and one white shoe just showing at the hem.
Most people see this card and think of courtrooms, punishment, somebody getting what they deserve.
Justice is the card of cause and effect. What you put out comes back to you. That is how the design works, and it has nothing to do with reward or punishment.
Sow this, reap that.
Here is what I want you to notice about the sword.
It points straight up. Justice does not swing it.
The sword is clarity, seeing the situation exactly as it is, with nothing added and nothing left out. And a sword has two edges, so the truth cuts both ways. The other person’s part in it, and yours.
Now the scales.
They are level because they have been allowed to settle, and nobody is holding them still.
That is the practice with this card. Stop pushing down on one side. Let the situation weigh what it actually weighs.
And that one white shoe. It is the only part of the body showing, and it is stepping forward.
Justice is a card you step into. You have to be willing to look at the whole thing squarely, your own part included, and then act on what you see.
The Sun is in Libra for a month now, so this is the season for exactly that.
Weigh fairly, see clearly, and take the step.
On Sunday morning, 27 September, the Moon is full in Aries, opposite this Libra Sun, and it will ask you what YOU want. Justice this week is the preparation for that.
You cannot ask for what is fair until you have looked at both sides of the scales.
So the practice for this week.
Pick one situation where you have been telling the story with yourself as the only reasonable person in it. Put the other side on the scales, fairly, and see where they settle. Then take the one step your own foot is already pointing at.
What are you weighing this week?
