The 78 Cards
Ten of Cups
Minor Arcana, the suit of Cups, the Ten. Element: water.

Family, home, and happiness that lasts.
The picture
A rainbow of ten golden cups arcs across a clear sky. Below it, a man and a woman stand with their backs to us and their arms around each other, each raising a free arm towards the rainbow. Beside them two children dance hand in hand. Beyond, a river winds through green land to a house among trees on a hill.
Upright
Ten is completion, the end of one cycle and the start of the next. In Cups, it is the heart's cycle brought home.
The Nine was one person enjoying what he had. The Ten is people enjoying it together. This is the card of family, of home, of the relationships that hold you over years. The quiet, lasting happiness of belonging somewhere.
That family does not have to look like the one on the card. It can be the family you were born into, the family you made, or the family you chose along the way. The rainbow does not check anyone's paperwork.
Look at the couple. They stand side by side and look up together, at the same thing. I think that is the secret of this card: people who share a view of what matters.
And the children dance without looking up at all. They already live in it.
Reversed
Reversed, I read this card as blocked, or as turned inward.
Blocked is the family that is there and not flowing. Tension at home, old arguments at the dinner table, a distance between people who love each other and cannot quite reach.
Turned inward is the rainbow on show and the house quiet inside. Everything looks right from the road. The photos are lovely. Inside, somebody feels alone.
To tell which, ask whether the trouble is spoken or hidden. If everyone knows there is a problem, it is blocked, and it can be worked on together. If you are the only one who feels it, it is turned inward, and the first step is to say so.
When it turns up
Who shares your view of what matters most, and when did you last stand beside them and look at it together?
