The 78 Cards
Queen of Wands
Minor Arcana, the suit of Wands, the Queen. Element: fire.

Warm, confident, and very much herself.
The picture
A queen sits on a throne with lions carved into its arms, holding a sprouting wand in one hand and a sunflower in the other. More lions and sunflowers decorate the throne behind her. She wears a gold crown topped with leaves, and a black cat sits at her feet.
Upright
The Queens show a suit mastered from within. She holds her suit and nurtures it. In Wands, she holds fire without being burned by it.
This is confidence that has no need to shout. She is warm, generous and magnetic, the person everyone is drawn to at a gathering, and the one who gets things done without drama. Her passion is steady. It keeps a whole household or a whole business going. The sunflower in her hand turns towards the light, and so does she.
The black cat is worth a look. It sits right at her feet, facing us. She is comfortable with the parts of herself other people might find a bit unsettling: her independence, her intuition, her refusal to shrink.
The Queen can be a person, an approach, or a part of you. The age and gender of the figure do not limit who it describes.
Reversed
Reversed, I read her as turned inward or too little. The warmth she gives everyone else has stopped reaching herself, or the confidence has dimmed and she has started making herself smaller to fit in.
It can also be too much, when the warmth turns into control and the fire becomes jealousy or a short temper. Ask how you feel after time with this person, or this part of you. Drained and managed is too much. Flat and quiet is too little.
When it turns up
Where have you been making yourself smaller than you are?
