The 78 Cards
Page of Cups
Minor Arcana, the suit of Cups, the Page. Element: water.

A message from the heart, and a surprise in the cup.
The picture
A young page stands on the shore with the sea rolling behind him. He wears a blue hat with a long scarf and a tunic patterned with flowers. He holds up a golden cup, and a small fish pokes its head out of it and looks back at him. His other hand rests on his hip.
Upright
The Page is the student and the messenger. In Cups, the Page brings news of the heart and approaches feelings with curiosity.
This is the card of emotional messages. An invitation, a note from someone you like, a creative idea that arrives out of nowhere, an intuitive nudge you cannot explain. It is also the card of studying your own feelings with the fresh eyes of a student.
Look at the fish. Nobody expects a fish in a cup. The Page does not drop it or tip it out. He looks at it with interest, as if to say "well, hello". The card asks the same of you: meet the unexpected feeling with curiosity, and see what it has to say.
Like every court card, the Page can be a person in your life, an approach you are being asked to take, or a part of you. The age and gender of the figure do not limit who it describes. The Page of Cups may be a gentle, dreamy person of any age, or your own inner child wanting to play.
Reversed
Reversed, I read this card as blocked, or as too much.
Blocked is the intuitive message that gets dismissed. The fish in the cup is waved away as silly, the creative idea never written down, the feeling brushed off before it can speak.
Too much is the heart ruling the whole show. Moodiness, oversensitivity, daydreaming while the doing waits, taking everything personally.
To tell which, notice what you did with the last odd feeling or idea that surprised you. If you ignored it, it is blocked, and the next one deserves a hearing. If you have been swept along by every feeling that passes, it is too much, and some steadiness will help.
When it turns up
What surprising feeling or idea has turned up lately, and what might it be trying to tell you?
