Just before midday on Friday 11 September, Perth time, the New Moon arrives at 18 degrees of Virgo.
This is the one we have been walking toward all fortnight. The first New Moon since eclipse season closed, landing in a 1 month inside a 1 year, at the start of spring.
I cannot remember a cleaner runway for a fresh start.
Last month’s New Moon was an eclipse, enormous and out of our hands. This one is different in the best way. This is an ordinary, workable New Moon, the kind you can actually build on.
And because it comes in Virgo, it asks for a particular kind of beginning.
Small.
Practical.
Daily.
Virgo does not deal in grand announcements. Virgo deals in the ten minutes every morning, the walk after dinner, the page a day, the one drawer at a time.
If eclipse season showed you WHAT wants to change, this New Moon is where you decide HOW, in steps small enough to actually take.
There is one more gift in the timing.
Early on Friday morning, before the moon turned, Mercury left Virgo and entered Libra. The planet of the mind has moved into the sign of relationships, so the thinking softens from lists toward people. Whatever you begin today, you will find the words to bring others along with you.
So here is the practice for today.
Sometime around midday, take five quiet minutes. Write down one intention, and make it pass the Virgo test.
Can you do a piece of it tomorrow morning, Saturday 12 September? Can you do a piece of it every day next week?
If yes, you have planted correctly.
Then tend it like a gardener, daily, lightly, without drama, and let spring do what spring does.
The clearing is done.
The cycle is new.
Begin.
What is the one small daily thing you are starting under this New Moon?
Come and share it in the Perth Spiritual Learning group on Facebook, saying it out loud gives it roots.
