This is the week the seed is in the ground and the handbrake comes off.
On Saturday night, 10 October, the Moon was new in Libra, and I wrote to you about it yesterday.
A new cycle has begun, in the sign of partnership, under a Venus retrograde, so the instruction stands: plant the intention, do not sign the contract. This week is the first week of that cycle, the quiet one, where the seed is under the soil and nothing shows yet.
Then Friday.
At 10:40 on Friday morning, 16 October, Perth time, Pluto, which has been retrograde since May, stops and turns direct.
Pluto is the slowest planet we use and the deepest, the one that governs the changes you cannot undo, and it has spent five months going back over old ground. From Friday, the deep change starts moving forward again, and I will write about that on Wednesday.
Friday afternoon Mars in Leo makes an easy angle to Saturn in Aries. Drive and structure agree for once, so Friday is the best day of the month to do the hard thing properly.
On Thursday afternoon the Sun and Jupiter are friendly across the sky, so Thursday is the easy day, the one for the generous conversation.
The Moon is in Scorpio to Wednesday morning, so the early week runs deep and private, and Sagittarius from Wednesday, so the back half of the week lifts and looks outward.
Sunday night the Moon reaches First Quarter, the first decision point of the new cycle, and next week’s post will pick that up.
Mercury is in Scorpio all week, so the words stay under the surface.
Venus is still retrograde, still reviewing, and Mars is still in Leo, still asking to be seen.
Chinese: the Month of the Dog, which I will write about tomorrow, guarding what matters inside a Horse year that wants to run.
Numerology: the middle of October’s 11 month, intuition loud, nerves close behind, so the daily sit is not optional.
The theme for everyone: tend the seed quietly early in the week, then on Friday, let the deep thing move.
Read for your Sun sign, and your rising sign if you know it.
Aries
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of partnership, so the new cycle is about the other person, and this week the seed is under the soil, so tend it with attention rather than action. Ask one question of your partner this week that you have never asked, and listen to the whole answer. Friday’s Pluto station lands among your friends and community, so a group, a cause or a friendship that has been stuck since May starts moving, and it may change shape as it does. Mars, your own planet, in your house of joy makes its easy angle to Saturn in your sign on Friday, so the fun thing and the disciplined thing agree for once, and that is the day to commit.
Taurus
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of work and health, so the new cycle is a routine, a job or a way of treating the body, and this week is for setting it up quietly. Change one small daily thing and hold it all week without telling anyone. Friday’s Pluto station lands at the top of your chart, so a work matter or a question of reputation that has been stalled since May starts moving, and the change will be deep. Venus, your own planet, is still reviewing your partnerships, so the relationship review is halfway and it is not finished.
Gemini
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of joy and creativity, so the new cycle is something you make, play or fall for, and this week it is a seed, so protect it from your own second thoughts. Start the creative thing and do not show it to anybody until next week. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of horizons, so a belief, a course or a far away plan that has been stuck since May starts moving again. Thursday’s easy Sun and Jupiter afternoon lands between your words and your joy, so Thursday is the day for the generous conversation.
Cancer
Saturday’s New Moon landed at the base of your chart, so the new cycle is home, family, the place you return to, and this week is for the quiet groundwork. Fix, clear or begin one thing at home that will still matter in six months. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of depth and shared resources, so money held with another, an inheritance, a debt or an intimacy that has been stalled since May starts moving, and it will go deep. Mars in your house of money makes its easy angle to Saturn at the top of your chart on Friday, so Friday is the day to ask for the raise or set the price.
Leo
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of words and daily connections, so the new cycle is a conversation, a message, a sibling or a neighbour, and this week the seed is planted in what you say. Send one message this week that starts something rather than answers something. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of partnership, so a relationship that has been going back over old ground since May starts moving forward, and the change in it will be real. Mars in your sign makes its easy angle to Saturn in your house of horizons on Friday, so the bold plan and the long plan agree, and that is the day to commit to it.
Virgo
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of money and worth, so the new cycle is about what you earn, what you spend and what you are worth, and this week is for the quiet sums. Write the budget, or the price list, and do not act on it until next week. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of work and health, so a routine, a job or a health matter that has been stuck since May starts moving, and the change goes deep. Mercury, your own planet, in Scorpio in your house of words keeps the conversation honest this week, so say the true sentence and let it land.
Libra
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your own sign, so the new cycle is about you, who you are this year and who you are becoming, and this week the seed is under the soil, so be patient with yourself. Do one thing this week purely because it is yours, with nobody else’s needs weighed in. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of joy and creativity, so a romance, a child or a creative project that has been stalled since May starts moving again, and it may change shape. Venus, your own planet, is still retrograde in your house of money and worth, so the review of what you are worth runs on, and the answer is not in yet.
Scorpio
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your quietest house, so the new cycle begins out of sight, in rest and reflection, and this week is for exactly that, twelve days before your own season opens. Finish one thing quietly that you have been carrying since winter. Friday’s Pluto station, your own planet, lands at the base of your chart, so a home or family matter that has been going over old ground since May starts moving forward, and it will be a deep change. Mercury and Venus are both in your sign, so the words and the review are yours this week, and the Moon is with you to Wednesday morning.
Sagittarius
Saturday’s New Moon landed among your friends and community, so the new cycle is a group, a cause or a friendship worth beginning, and this week is for the first quiet conversation about it. Reach out to one person you want in your circle for the next year. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of words and daily connections, so a conversation, a message or a sibling matter that has been stuck since May starts moving, and it will go deep. The Moon is in your sign from Wednesday morning, so the back half of the week is yours, and Mars in your house of horizons says use it to book the thing.
Capricorn
Saturday’s New Moon landed at the top of your chart, so the new cycle is professional, a role, a reputation, a public step, and this week is for laying the groundwork nobody sees. Prepare the pitch, the application or the plan, and hold it until next week. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your house of money and worth, so what you earn, what you own or what you are worth, stalled since May, starts moving, and the change will be deep. Saturn, your own planet, receives the easy angle from Mars on Friday, so Friday is the day the discipline and the drive agree, and the hard thing gets done properly.
Aquarius
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of horizons, so the new cycle is a trip, a course or a belief you are ready to test, and this week is for the quiet planning. Book the thing, or enrol, but do not tell everyone yet. Friday’s Pluto station is in your own sign, so the deep change in who you are, going over old ground since May, starts moving forward, and it is yours to steer. Mars in your house of partnership makes its easy angle to Saturn in your house of words on Friday, so the relationship and the conversation agree, and that is the day to say the thing.
Pisces
Saturday’s New Moon landed in your house of depth and shared resources, so the new cycle is about trust, intimacy or money held between you and another, and this week it is a seed, so tend it privately. Have one honest conversation about the arrangement, and then let it rest. Friday’s Pluto station lands in your quietest house, so something you have been working through privately since May starts to move, and you will feel it before you can name it. An 11 month in your house of partnership means the intuition about the other person is loud this week, so trust it, and check it on Friday.
Whatever your sign, the week has one shape.
Early in the week, the seed is under the soil.
Friday morning, Pluto turns and the deep thing moves. Tend quietly, then let it go forward.
What has been stuck since May that you are ready to see move?
