Tonight, in the early hours of Thursday 13 August, a little after half past one in the morning, Perth time, the Moon covers the Sun.
The total solar eclipse New Moon arrives at 20 degrees of Leo.
We will not see it from Perth, and we do not need to. Somewhere over the far north of the world the sky will go dark in the middle of the day, and the light will return. Here, we will be asleep under the same sky, in the same moment.
I have said all week that an eclipse New Moon is a seed planted with the volume turned up.
So tonight is planting night.
Leo is the sign of the heart. This seed wants to be about your light, your courage, your creative fire, the part of you that has been waiting for permission to be seen.
Keep it simple.
Before you go to sleep tonight, take one quiet minute. Bring to mind the one thing you would begin if you trusted your own light. You wrote it down on Sunday, or you carried it in your head, either way it knows its own name.
Say it to yourself once, clearly. Then let it go, and sleep.
No ceremony, no fear, no lists of rules.
A seed does not need you to stand over it. It needs to be placed in the dark, and left to do what seeds do.
Tomorrow the light returns, and the growing begins.
