Last Sunday, 19 July, I told you that everything I have shared in this group has one purpose. To help you remember your true nature.
And I said that the remembering is done with a Mind Switch. Back in 2020 I promised to explain what that is in another post.
Today I am keeping that promise.
You have two minds.
The first one is the human mind. It was built for you, layer by layer, from the day you were born. Every message the world gave you about who you are, what you are worth, what is possible and what is not, went into it. It is also where the monkey mind lives, that endless chatter of doubts, second guesses and running commentary I have written about before.
The human mind is not your enemy. It kept you safe, it got you through school and jobs and hard days, and it is very good at survival.
It is just not YOU.
The second mind is the one you arrived with. Call it the soul mind. It is the quiet knowing underneath all the noise. It is the part of you that was certain about things as a small child, before anyone taught you to doubt it.
Little children live from the soul mind. Watch a four year old talk about who they were before, or the friend nobody else can see, and you are watching the soul mind speak out loud.
I know that one from the inside.
When I was four I told my mother what I had been seeing. She gave me two aspirin and sent me to bed. That was the day my own switch got flipped the other way, and I learned to keep what I knew to myself for a very long time.
That is what the world does. Nobody flips your switch out of cruelty. They flip it because somebody flipped theirs.
So the Mind Switch is exactly what it sounds like. It is the deliberate act of switching which mind you live from. Away from the borrowed voice of the human mind. Back to the quiet knowing of the soul mind.
And it is a practice, a muscle you build, one you strengthen every time you use it.
Here is how you begin.
First, meditate every day. Half an hour of daily meditation is the foundation, and there is no shortcut around it. The monkey mind quietens when it is given stillness regularly, and the soul mind can only be heard in that quiet.
Second, catch the chatter in the act. When the doubts start up, pause and ask one question.
Who is listening to this?
The moment you notice there is a listener behind the thoughts, you have found the soul mind. The thoughts are the radio. You are the one hearing it, and the one who can reach over and change the station.
Third, follow the feeling. The soul mind rarely shouts. It nudges. It is the quiet yes underneath a decision, the ease in your body when something is right, the heaviness when something is not. The more you act on those nudges, the louder they are willing to become.
And fourth, remember the Flow. A few weeks ago I wrote about being in the Zone, where the chatter stops on its own and hours pass like minutes. Every time you are in the Flow, the switch has already flipped itself. Notice how that feels.
That feeling is home.
All you need is to remember which mind is yours.
Flip the switch. Then flip it again tomorrow, and the day after, until it stays.
Have you ever caught the quiet knowing underneath the chatter?
