Spring begins today

Today, Tuesday 1 September, is the first day of spring.

After the winter months, the light is coming back, the mornings are softening, and all across our state the wildflowers are beginning their show.

If you have ever driven through Western Australia in September, you know there is no display on Earth quite like it. Whole paddocks of everlastings that were bare dirt a month ago.

That is the teaching, right there.

Nothing about winter was wasted. The cold months did quiet work underground, and spring is simply that work becoming visible.

The same is true for you.

August was a big month. Two eclipses, a Universal Month 9, a lot of clearing and releasing. If it felt heavy at times, that was the underground work.

And now the season turns.

September is a Universal Month 1 inside a Universal Year 1, the strongest signature for new beginnings the numbers can offer.

Spring says grow.

The numbers say begin.

When the season and the numbers agree like this, I pay attention.

So here is my invitation for the first week of spring.

Plant one thing.

A habit, a practice, a conversation, a project, a seed in actual soil if that is your style. Just one, chosen deliberately, planted on purpose.

The wildflowers do not bloom all at once, and neither will your new cycle. But everything that flowers in November is being planted about now.

What is the one thing you are planting this spring?

Please share your thoughts.
