At 8:10 this morning, Wednesday 7 October, Perth time, Mercury and Venus meet in the sky, at 8 degrees of Scorpio.
Here is what makes this meeting unusual.
Mercury is moving forward.
Venus, since Saturday, is moving backward.
So they are passing each other in a corridor, going opposite ways, and for a day or two they are close enough to talk.
Mercury is the planet of words.
Venus is the planet of what you love and what you value, and right now she is walking back over the last few months of it, looking at everything again.
Put the two together and you get this. The words arrive for the thing that is under review.
I see this in readings all the time. Somebody has been carrying a feeling for months, sometimes years, and they cannot say what it is.
Then one ordinary Wednesday the sentence just turns up, fully formed, and they say it out loud in front of me and look surprised.
That is Mercury meeting Venus.
Now, this is Scorpio, so the sentence will be the deep one. Scorpio does not do small talk, and it does not do the polite version. The sentence that arrives today will be something like, I have not felt valued in this for a long time, or, I stayed for the wrong reason, or, I want that back.
Do not be alarmed by it.
A sentence is information, and information is what the review is for. The teaching is in what you do with it.
You have three choices, the same three you always have.
Say it to the person it concerns.
Write it down and sit with it for a week. Or swallow it again, which is the one I would not choose, because Venus is going to keep walking backward over this ground until mid November and she will hand you the same sentence again, louder.
If you say it, say it plainly and once, the way we practised at the Full Moon. No speech, no apology, no list of evidence.
And listen, because Mercury works both ways, and the other person may have a sentence arriving too.
So the practice for today.
Some time this morning, ask yourself what you have been unable to say about something you love.
Wait.
The words are due.
What sentence turned up for you today?
