This week the cards drew The Fool.
On Friday 11 September, just before midday Perth time, the New Moon arrives in Virgo, the first New Moon of the new season. And on its eve, the deck hands us the card of the leap.
Once again the chart and the cards are speaking the same language.
Look at the image.
A young traveller stands at the very edge of a cliff, face lifted to the sky. In one hand, a white rose. Over the shoulder, a small bundle tied to a staff. At the heels, a little white dog. Behind, the sun shines full.
Most people see recklessness in this card.
I see readiness.
The Fool is card zero, the number before all the numbers. Zero is the open circle, the unwritten page, pure potential before the first step gives it a direction.
The bundle is small because the Fool travels light, he has done his releasing, and after last month’s eclipses, so have we. The white rose is innocence, choosing to meet the new without cynicism. The dog is instinct, the faithful companion that barks when a step is truly wrong.
And the cliff edge is simply where every new cycle starts.
You can never see the whole path from the edge. You step, and the path appears under your feet, one step at a time.
Now here is what makes this week’s draw so fitting.
The Fool leaps, and Friday’s New Moon is in Virgo, the sign of the plan. Together they make the complete teaching.
Dream like the Fool, land like a Virgo.
Take the leap, and take the list.
So on Thursday night, stand at your own cliff edge and ask what the leap actually is. On Friday, under the New Moon, we take it.
What leap has been waiting for you to stop peering over the edge?
There is more teaching like this in The Library, and every daily post is in Daily Posts. If you would like guidance on your own path, see Readings.
