Tarot Card of the Week: The Moon

This week, in the week of the Full Moon itself, the cards drew The Moon.

I love it when they do that.

Look at the card. A moon with a quiet face rains soft light over a winding path. Two towers stand in the distance. A dog and a wolf howl up at the sky, and a crayfish climbs out of the water onto the land.

Nothing on this card is certain. It is night, the path is long, and nothing is quite what it seems.

The Moon is the card of the uncertain road.

What it shows you is fog. And fog does something interesting to us. It wakes up the imagination, and the imagination starts filling the blanks, usually with worst cases.

The dog and the wolf are both howling at the same moon. One is tame fear, the everyday worry. One is wild fear, the old deep stuff. Both are loud this week, and both are just voices.

Here is the teaching the card offers.

When you cannot see the whole road, stop trying to see it. Walk by feel.

The crayfish at the bottom of the card has no map at all, and still it climbs out of the water and onto the path. One wet step at a time.

Your intuition works best in exactly these conditions, when the thinking mind has nothing solid to grab.

So if something in your life is foggy right now, do not force a decision under this moon. Take the one step you can feel is true, and let the next step show itself when you get there.

The fog always lifts. It always has.

Where in your life are you being asked to walk by feel right now?
