Your Personal Year, and how to find it

In numerology, the whole world is moving through a Universal Year. 2026 adds up to a 1, the start of a brand new nine year cycle for everyone.

But layered on top of that, you are also moving through your own Personal Year. It runs from birthday to birthday, and it colours the whole feel of your year, what it is for, what it is asking of you, where the current wants to carry you.

Here is how to work out yours. It takes about ten seconds.

Take the day and month you were born, and this year, 2026. Reduce each part to a single digit, then add them together, then reduce once more.

Let me show you with a birthday of 18 August.

Day: 18 becomes 1 plus 8, which is 9.

Month: August is the 8th month, so 8.

Year: 2026 becomes 2 plus 0 plus 2 plus 6, which is 10, which becomes 1.

Now add those three: 9 plus 8 plus 1 is 18, which becomes 1 plus 8, which is 9.

So someone born on 18 August is in a Personal Year 9 right now.

Here is the quick feel of each one.

  1. A fresh start. New beginnings, planting seeds, stepping forward.
  2. Patience and partnership. Slowing down, letting things ripen.
  3. Expression. Creativity, joy, getting yourself out there.
  4. Building. Foundations, steady work that lasts.
  5. Change. Freedom, movement, the unexpected.
  6. Home. Love, responsibility, caring for your people.
  7. Reflection. Rest, inner work, trusting the unseen.
  8. Power. Money, harvest, stepping into your authority.
  9. Endings. Release, completion, clearing space for the new.

If you land on 11, 22 or 33 before that final step, that is a Master Number, and you sit with the heightened version of its root (11 carries the 2, 22 the 4, 33 the 6). For a first pass though, the single digit tells you plenty.

So have a go. Work out yours.
